Biography

Accomplished General Counsel with 25 years experience in representing clients in state and federal court. 8 years as Calhoun County Corporation Counsel guiding elected/appointed officials and boards. Skilled in legislative affairs, public relations, and community affairs with a proven record of leading local and state collaborative efforts. Comfortable in a fast paced, high visibility role.

REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS:

  • Negotiated all agreements for $2m expansion of Calhoun County Trailway
  • Represented Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch Authority (9-1-1) and negotiated and prepared all agreements for county-wide dispatch system
  • Negotiated all agreements for the Marshall Regional Law Enforcement Center
  • Advocated for change in state law to allow Calhoun County to dissolve its road commission and prepared all documents for dissolution by county
  • President of the Marshall School Board annexation and worked tirelessly in high-profile role to bring the two communities together
  • Obtained funding for and negotiated all aspects of seven day a week express care clinic in underserved Albion community
  • Vision and Hearing Clinic – worked with Battle Creek Community Foundation and other Partners to bring vision and hearing services to Albion
  • Developed relationships and agreements for Albion/Senior Care Partners, P.A.C.E. PACE Center project
  • Led fundraising for Albion Marshall Connector and served on county-wide transit study steering committee
  • Developed site, funding and agreements to develop Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center in Marshall serving Marshall area seniors with a variety of programs
